A hall pass takes three screens. The student signs out on the classroom tablet and picks where they're going, and staff see it on the dashboard right away. Here's what each screen looks like.
STEP 1 · STUDENT
Between passes, the classroom tablet stays on the PIN screen. A student types in their student number and taps Enter. There's no paper pass, no personal phone, and no account to log into. The keys are big enough to hit quickly, and staff sign in from the Teacher / Admin link at the bottom of the same screen.
STEP 2 · STUDENT
HallMetrics greets the student by name, so they know the right pass came up, and asks where they're headed. Each common trip has its own big button: Bathroom, Water Fountain, Nurse, Office, Locker, Counselor and Other Classroom. Something Else covers the rest. If the wrong number went in, Back returns to the keypad. Your school can change these destinations to match your building.
STEP 3 · STAFF
The dashboard lists every student who's out right now, with where they went, when they left and how long they've been gone. The counter at the top compares how many are out to the limit you set, and the Online badge shows the tablet is connected. From the same screen, staff can check students back in, look up pass history and average time out, while admin can manage the roster and change settings.
